Another Monday is here meaning another weekend is over. BOO. This past weekend we did something that was uniquely Savannah. Chris, the girls, and I hit up the SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival down at Forsyth Park.
Saturday was seriously a beautiful day and a perfect one to head to the park. SCAD is the Savannah College of Art and Design which is one of the premier arts colleges in the country. Every year the school hosts the art festival where squares of sidewalk are assigned to different artists. The competition is opened up to current SCAD students, alumni, and prospective students with different award categories. This year marked the 33rd time the festival was held!
Emmalyne had a great time riding on daddy’s shoulders and checking out the different pieces. Her favorites included a whale, flowers, the bumble bees, and so much more.
My favorite art piece of the day was this peacock. I think peacocks are beautiful to begin with and the bright colors of this drawing nailed it!
If you’re in Savannah in April I highly recommend trying to check out the festival. It just captures the Savannah vibe to me and is just one of the many reasons I LOVE living here! Saturday was really a perfect family day. After the festival we grabbed lunch at Chipotle, headed home for naps, and wrapped up the night playing in the sprinklers with our neighborhood friends. Pure perfection.
I hope you have a fantastic Monday! I have a busy week ahead of me but after a family filled weekend my tank is full and I am ready to get after it 🙂 Enjoy your day.
