Happy Monday friends! I hope you are feeling refreshed and ready for another week. I had a great weekend over here wrapping things up from my week on campus, hanging out with the family, and preparing to start my Emergency Medicine rotation today. Someone you might hear mentioned a bit more than the last few weeks is CHRIS. He actually just got back from 3 weeks of work stuff and we missed him terribly. Solo parenting is not for the faint of heart my friends and my hat is off to all the single parents out there. You are amazing. Let’s get to the recap shall we?
Friday I had a HUGE test on campus. It basically was a boards-style test that covered 1/3 of all the material that will be on my national boards in April. And it was awful. Once I finished the test I headed to the lab to practice my suturing and get my frustration out. I figured I should probably make sure I remember how to tie an instrument knot before I go to stitch up a real person 😉
Chris got off work a little early so we hit up the grocery store together before picking the kids up from school. Once we got home we changed and headed to our neighborhood pool for a little swim before dinner. Bryn is SUCH a water baby and loves having her own Puddle Jumper in the pool. She is a big fan of the freedom.
Saturday was spent getting stuff done around the house before Chris and I had a date night. We headed downtown for the night and being the great husband that he is Chris even let me spend some time shopping. Anthropologie took all my money though but I am ok with it.
It was pretty wet outside so we stuck close to the parking garage and just went to Wild Wing Cafe for dinner. Since I am an appetizer junkie and love a little bit of this and that their triple dip appetizer was perfect for me. Their buffalo dip is among my favs and their queso and guac are great too. NOM.
After dinner we met up with my friend Josh from school for some drinks at our favorite bar, Social Club. Things had dried off so we got to sit outside and just chat for awhile which is always nice. I even got Josh to get a pic of Chris and I 😉
Yesterday we did some more chores around the house and the girls watched Frozen for the first time in awhile. When I looked over at Bryn I wasn’t surprised to find her transfixed by the TV however I WAS surprised that Trigger was so in to it!
We rounded out the weekend with a BBQ with our neighbors and bath night for the girls. I actually only have in-processing today so I am going to finish up my weekend “to do” list this afternoon before the REAL fun of 5 weeks of ER begins. Happy Monday!
