When we were home in Phoenix for New Year’s I got to see a special tradition that my sister and her family do. Throughout the year they write their favorite memories and put them in a jar. Then on New Year’s Eve they sit around the table and read them together! I love this idea because it lets those daily miracles get recorded and the memories saved for the year. So I thought it was time that Chris and I did the same for our family.
I picked up this cute jar at Kroger. I loved it because it’s a chalkboard which will make personalizing it every year super easy. For the memories I just cut up some computer paper into strips and then glued a cute envelope to the side of the jar to hold them.
I have already started adding some memories to our jar and I am really looking forward to all of the ones that end up in there over the year. With kids this age things change and they grow at lightning speed so I am sure it’s going to be fun! I have some plans for what to do with the strips at the end of the year so the memories last forever but that’s a thought for another day 😉
