We had such an awesome weekend over here! Like probably one of the best weekends in awhile. It came at the perfect time after a chaotic week last week and it felt awesome to unwind after being stressed about Physician Assistant school interviews. Fingers crossed I should know the outcome of those in the next week or so 🙂 I am going to recap the whole weekend tomorrow but it was full of blends, the beach, and a new car! Meanwhile, I hit 22 weeks in my second pregnancy yesterday so it’s time for an update!
What is baby up to at 22 weeks?
- Baby is the size of a spaghetti squash or around 11 inches and just about 1 pound
- Her eyes have formed and her features are becoming more distinct
- She is developing little tooth buds beneath her gums (BOO future teething!)
How is mama doing?
Wight Gain: Sitting at +6 lbs which is the same as last week. I made a pretty big jump last week so I am not surprised to hold even this week.
Fit Pregnancy: I did a good job at fitting in workouts even though my schedule was busy. I only worked out 3 days last week but on those days my intensity was up and I felt great. You can read about them here.
Back Pain: Ever since starting to do my back care yoga plan I haven’t been dealing with nearly as persistent or common back pain so I am feeling really happy on this front! Back pain is no fun and I am sure it will return as I get bigger but for now I am welcoming the relief.
Nausea: I’ve actually gotten sick a few times this last week which was a major bummer. I thought I was over that hump! Luckily I had some Seagrams Ginger Ale leftover to help quell it a little bit (enter my giveaway here). BOO hyperemesis. You suck.
Sleep: One of the weirdest things about being pregnant is how you can start having extremely vivid dreams. I have had some insane dreams this last week and not all of them were good which lead to interrupted sleep. I am also getting up 1-2 times a night to use the bathroom. Fun times 😉
Other Random Things:
- Wedding rings are still on my fingers – no swelling here!
- Belly button is way weird – 1/2 in and 1/2 out. Pretty sure it will never be the same.
- Dry skin came back on my right arm with a vengeance
- Baby Girl got some new clothes from GAP … I die with the cuteness
Movement: I feel like this baby is still really calm – that or I just don’t feel her that much. She was breech at our 20-week ultrasound and I am still feeling kicks pretty low. I am not worried about it all since baby’s change position every minute at this point in pregnancy and they don’t worry about them being head down until 32-34 weeks.
Looking Forward To: We have our next OB appointment on Thursday so I can’t wait to hear her little heart beat again!
I am putting together a post comparing my first and second pregnancy up until this point because I have been getting several questions about it. Do you have any specific questions you want answered?
