Oh Monday … we meet again! We enjoyed a glorious 3-day weekend over here. Didn’t do anything particularly exciting other than BBQ with friends Saturday night and it was perfect. This week is CRAZY busy with FRG stuff, work stuff, PA school stuff, and blend stuff so I am glad I got to rest a little yesterday to get ready 🙂 I seriously can’t believe how fast time is going. Maybe I should start thinking about prepping for Baby Girl #2?
One of the craziest things to me is how much bigger my belly is by the end of the day. We took this photo at 5PM and I swear it grew like 3 inches from the morning. Got to love it 😉
What is baby up to at 21 weeks?
- Baby is the size of a pomegranate – or about 10.5 inches long (UMM hello growth spurt from last week?!) and 12.7 ounces.
- Eyebrows and eyelids are present and her girly bits are forming
- Her digestive system is starting to prep for life in the real world outside of my womb-hotel
How is mama doing?
Weight Gain: Weighing in at +6 pounds which is a 1 lb increase from last week … right on track! See, I lose the weight in the beginning but make up for it along the way haha.
Fit Pregnancy: I had a great week of workouts last week with running, lifting, and yoga all making an appearance. I actually logged 14 miles which felt awesome! My goal is to continue to log 10-15 miles a week for as long as it feels good. Read more about last week HERE.
Back Pain: I have talked the last couple of weeks about having persistent back pain in my lower back just to the right of my sacrum. I met with one of my favorite yoga instructors who specializes in therapeutic yoga the other week and we worked together to come up with a plan. I have been using these exercises and stretches for over a week now and notice a HUGE difference. I will be posting my back care plan tomorrow 🙂
Hungry Hungry Hippo: That’s how I have felt this last week and looking at baby’s growth over the last week it makes more sense. I have seriously been RAVENOUS and haven’t necessarily been making the wisest choices. Ruffles and cake pops don’t make a diet to they? SO – I am going to make a better effort to clean up my eats a bit this week since what I put into my body goes to the baby.
Sleep: Oh boy … sleep hasn’t been the best this last week. I am only waking up to use the bathroom probably 1-2x a night but I haven’t been sleeping solidly and I miss it.
Movement: Homegirl likes to get her party on when I lay down at night. I am sure she is kickboxing more often during the day but constantly being on the move masks her little jabs. At night though is a different story and I can feel her on both sides of my stomach at the same time.
Highlights: I ordered Baby G a couple of things this weekend from Baby Gap. Their sales are seriously so good! It’s fun getting to pick out the cutesy stuff since I know I have the basics covered. Em lucked out with some new digs too 😉 Gosh raising two girls is going to be expensive! Haha.
That about sums this last week up. I am now on the downward slope of this pregnancy and I know the next 4ish months are going to go by in a blink!
