WOO HOO it’s Friday 🙂 Chris is off today which means that this weekend is extra full of awesome. Last night we had the Military Police Ball in downtown Savannah. I can’t wait to share everything about it with you. It’s one of my favorite parts of being a military wife … getting to dress up in ball gowns and seeing my husband in his snazzy uniform. 😉
It being Friday and all means that it’s time for another Fitness Friday! This week was a decent week in workouts for the most part 🙂
REST. I meant to do 9 miles but my hectic week last week caught up to me and I was exhausted. I logged 20 miles last week without it so I still feel on track for my half marathon training.
I hit up the yoga class at my gym and it was a little better than last week. I am looking forward to going to my yoga studio this weekend though for a better class.
I did a 4.5 mile training run on the treadmill for a pace of 9:06/mile. I felt pretty good during this run. I was planning on lifting after but Emmalyne wasn’t having it in child care so we headed home so she could take a nap. Instead, I did a bicep/back super set workout in the garage.
Wednesday was speed work day for my half marathon training plan. On tap was 9x400m repeats and boy was this run hard. It was a mind game the entire time and I struggled with it. I was SO glad when it was done and I averaged 9:19/mile.
I had an easy 3 miles on my training plan for yesterday. My legs were pretty beat from the speed work on Wednesday. Note to self: a stroller run is not a good way to recover. I struggled thru it. I ran the first 2 miles at a 9:30 and then ran/walked another mile. Humidity was also back in full force (WTH?) and I just felt off. I did my 100 leg workout in the garage while Emmie napped and called it a day.
Today I am going to do some sort of weights and cross training at the gym. Chris and I have a ton of errands to run to get ready for Emmalyne’s birthday party next weekend 🙂 WOO WOO!
