Happy Friday everyone! Thank you all for checking out my guest post on Carla’s blog yesterday … your feedback on my cousin’s story of survival was so welcomed! Also, thank you for your tweets, comments, and FB messages encouraging me on my midterm … happy to report that I aced it 😉 Even though I spent a lot of time this week
playing with Emmie hitting the books, I managed to stick to my half marathon training plan pretty closely! Happy Fitness Friday 🙂
I met Leslie Ann and Heather at J.F. Gregory for our weekly long run. I’ll be honest … this run was tough. After taking some rest days last week, and not really training the week prior, I struggled a bit. I met my distance goal and didn’t feel like dying … winning!
Just like I planned, I hit up a yoga class Monday morning. Unfortunately it was kind of disappointing. I don’t feel like I worked at all and honestly didn’t feel stretched either. Not the best class I have been to. Later in the afternoon Emmie and I headed out to take the dogs for a 2 mile walk in the neighborhood. The weather is just too nice out NOT to walk!
If there is a word to describe this run it would be HUMBLING. I had a lot to do so I laced up my sneakers and took Emmie on my 4.5 mile training run. It’s been a long time since I ran any sort of distance with Em solo and I felt it. Stroller running is hard work, yo! When I got home I did an upper body circuit in the garage to feel the burn 😉
I made my return to the gym for some speed work. It consisted of a 5 minute warm-up, 35 minute tempo run, and 5 minute cool-down. I extended my cool-down a bit to reach 5 miles. What? I like even numbers.
REST. Took yesterday as a rest day since I had my midterm.
Today I am going to hit the gym for some sort of exercise. Vague, no?
Overall I am thrilled that I was able to get so much in this week given an incredibly busy schedule. Hoping the motivation carries over into the weekend 😉 Have a great one!
What do you have planned for this weekend? Anyone racing?
