It’s hard to believe that 11 years has gone by…
September 11 changed the course of my life and I didn’t even know it. In generations past, our parents and grandparents will always remember where they were and what they were doing when they found out President Kennedy was shot or when the Challenger exploded. Our generation will never forget where they were on September 11, 2001.
One of my dear friends from Fort Hood lost her father in the attacks. She and her family wear the scars of a single day and couldn’t forget if they wanted to. My prayers are with her and her family today, and everyday, as they grieve.
My husband is a Soldier. September 11 shaped the course of his military career. He has not known a military at peace since being commissioned. He has served in Afghanistan. Our men and women in uniform are STILL fighting for the victims of 9/11/01 … and thousands have been lost in the cause. As you remember the victims today … please also remember our service members who are securing our freedom overseas and working diligently to ensure that our nation never has to grieve the way we did 11 years ago ever again.
Loving this article: My son reads about 9/11 in school, but he lives 9/11 at home.
Where were you? I was getting ready for school when the first plane hit. I had just gotten to PE when the towers fell. My sister signed me out of school shortly after and we cried together while watching the news.
