So how big IS baby??
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. She’s rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening.
I am still feeling pretty good for the most part. Baby Em is going through a growth spurt and should be putting on about 1/2 pound per week from now until delivery! That being said, I am staying steady with my weight gain which is great 🙂 I don’t feel ‘huge’ yet…just a little large and in charge 😉 I know the huge phase is coming so I am just enjoying feeling relatively comfortable right now 🙂
I have noticed that my capacity for exercise is declining which is to be expected (although my mom was running 7 minute miles at 8 months preggo with me … sigh). I have been getting my cardio in my walking the furbabies and doing the elliptical. I am just doing things at a slightly slower pace to keep my heart rate down. I am still sticking with weights also – I want to be strong for labor! I have missed the last two weeks of yoga but will be back in the saddle Monday hopefully 🙂
Sleep is becoming more and more difficult and I sleep in a fortress of pillows (4 at minimum). I toss and turn a lot and don’t ever feel rested. But I guess that’s the next 18 years right? 😉
How Do I Feel?
Uncomfortable. That pretty much sums it up. Carrying the extra weight out front causes my back to ache by the end of the day. Also, dealing with the round ligament pain has been a treat. Throw in the Braxton Hicks and ‘lightning’ pains and it’s just a fun fest here! BUT Emmie is a mover and a shaker and I am enjoying these last few weeks we have completely together. Soon she will be out in the real world and not rocking my belly. This is the closest we will EVER be so I am going to drink it up now!
With the move less than 3 weeks away I am satisfying my urge to nest by making lists and drawing diagrams of her room. Luckily I have the floor plan to the house we are moving into so I can start to ‘organize’ each of the rooms! I can’t wait to wash all her sweet clothes and watch Chris put her crib together. I have also been making my lists for the hospital and my remaining OB appointments. I can’t believe there are only 7 weeks left … EEK!
I will say that my friend recently asked me when I think Emmalyne is going to make her appearance … my mom and I both think sometime in the 38th week.
